Lost Anchor and Chain Recovery in the North Aegean Sea
BM was assigned the task of locating and retrieving an anchor along with its 3-shackle-long chain that had become lost in a complex, rocky seabed in the Aegean Sea. To search for, detect, and accurately geolocate the anchor and chain, an ROV equipped with advanced detection sensors, including multibeam imaging sonar and UHD cameras, as well as precise navigation systems (USBL and DVL), was deployed. A detailed 3D model of the anchor and chain layout on the rugged terrain was developed to support the planning and execution of a safe and efficient salvage operation by our diving team.
